LONDONDERRY — Stop Drunk Driving Now will hold a drunken-driving prevention presentation on Friday, Oct. 29, at Londonderry High School. The event, "The Moment of Truth," will feature speakers from the officers and firefighters from Londonderry police and fire departments, and trauma personnel from Elliot Hospital's emergency room.

The event will be hosted by Ronald Bellanti, who founded Stop Drunk Driving Now.

"This event will be powerful in the fact that the students in the school will hear from first responders from their hometown," Bellanti said. "This localization of the message has proven to be extremely effective in the past as it drives home to the kids in the audience that drunk driving can strike anywhere — and it does."

Stop Drunk Driving Now sells corporate and residential advertising space in its digital drunk driving prevention magazine, Checkpoint.

"This is a new approach that hits the kids right where they live, online on their laptops and home computers," Bellanti said. "We are a one-of-its-kind program that utilizes free music and the Internet to promote drunk driving awareness. We rely on the people and the businesses in the community to support our efforts".

The Stop Drunk Driving Now website features drunken driving awareness art created by college and high school kids from across America. A separate art contest will be open to any student from Londonderry High School and will feature a $100 grand prize.
